There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

With inZOI set for an early access release, fans are eager to learn about the game's features, particularly those concerning sex and nudity. During an "Ask Me (almost) Anything" live segment on the official inZOI Discord channel, three team leads addressed these questions, with translations provided by Assistant Director Joel Lee.

While the session covered various aspects of realism, including baby care, body size, and driving, the topic of explicit content was a significant focus. Lee carefully navigated the discussion, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game that you obviously know what's happening; the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. How visually apparent is that? That's where you have to go to your imagination. What you're seeing is not what you're seeing; you have to assume that's what's happening. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."

This response indicates that while sex will be part of the game, the depiction will be toned down to cater to a broader audience. Given inZOI's more realistic approach compared to the more whimsical style of games like The Sims, fans can anticipate a nuanced handling of these sensitive features.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Players also inquired about the unusual sight of Zois showering with towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, which work well in cartoonish games like The Sims, clash with inZOI's more realistic art style. These effects inadvertently heightened the sexual suggestiveness rather than simply showing a towel.

Moreover, a bug during testing allowed players to see Zois without visual effects in the mirror, revealing them fully naked. This issue was quickly addressed by the developers to maintain the game's intended rating and audience appeal.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the discussions on sex and nudity, inZOI has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide range of players while keeping the content safe for work. Lee emphasized the team's goal, saying, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible."

A live stream showcase is scheduled for March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC on inZOI's official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will reveal early access pricing, DLC details, the developmental roadmap, and further address fan queries.

inZOI will launch in early access on Steam on March 28, 2025, and will also be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No specific release date has been announced yet. Stay updated with the latest news on our inZOI page.
