"Elden Ring Testers Reveal Fell Omen's Return Through Morgott's Jump-Scare Invasions"

by Andrew May 12,2025

The Fell Omen bosses from Elden Ring have become notorious, and it's thrilling to see them reintroduced in Elden Ring Nightreign, where they roam the Lands Between with renewed vigor. Morgott, a familiar foe from the original game, continues to haunt players with his phantom versions popping up unexpectedly. In Nightreign, this surprise element is taken a step further with an enhanced version of Morgott, referred to as an unnamed Fell Omen, capable of jump-scare invasions.

Morgott isn't the only boss capable of invading your party as you navigate Nightreign, but his inclusion feels particularly apt. It not only mirrors his surprise attacks in Elden Ring but also comes with new voice lines and additional moves, ensuring he remains a formidable challenge. It's only fitting that if players can bring friends into battle, Morgott should have some new tricks up his sleeve.

Apart from his invasions, the Fell Omen can also appear as a climactic end-of-night boss, providing a challenging finale to your nightly adventures in the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Early testers, including the renowned Let Me Solo Her, have faced off against the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Morgott's (or Margit's, as he's also known) invasion mechanic as a highlight. Players have reported encounters in various locations, from elevators to towers, showcasing Morgott's ability to appear unexpectedly and often with humorous results.

The surprise invasions by the Fell Omen have sparked enthusiasm for potential invasions by other iconic enemies. The Pursuer from Dark Souls 2, for instance, would be a thrilling addition. Personally, the inclusion of Hunters from Bloodborne would be fascinating, though it seems a less likely prospect.

There may be deeper mechanics at play with the Fell Omen's invasions. GamesRadar reported an incident where the Omen not only defeated a co-op partner but also left a curse mark on the defeated player. As more players engage with the game, these mechanics will likely be explored further.

Despite server issues during the first network test, many players were able to experience the Lands Between over the weekend. The full release of Nightreign is eagerly anticipated on May 30.
