The highly anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features that will enhance the gaming experience for players. One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, which can be slowed down to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the normal speed. This option is designed to assist players who may feel overwhelmed during intense gameplay moments, such as battling hordes of Freakers. According to Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, this feature will make the unique combat experience more accessible, especially with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster.
In a detailed PlayStation Blog post, McAllister outlined a variety of other accessibility enhancements coming to Days Gone Remastered. Players will benefit from customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously limited to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.
Alongside the accessibility enhancements, Days Gone Remastered will introduce several new gameplay options, including an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun modes. Announced in February, this remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
