Taking on the Primitive weekly challenge in *Phasmophobia* might feel like a trip back to the Stone Age, but unlike cavemen, we've got to deal with ghosts haunting our every move. This challenge requires us to dive in and out without relying on electronics, a daunting task that tests our wits and intuition. Let's break down how we can make this happen.
How To Complete The Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia
The Primitive Challenge is one of the toughest weekly challenges in Phasmophobia. The key twist here is that you must identify the ghost and complete your investigations without any electronics. This leaves you with a bare minimum of tools, forcing you to rely heavily on your knowledge of ghost behaviors and intuition.
This challenge takes place at 10 Ridgeview Court, a house-style map that's easier to navigate and find safe spots in compared to other locations. Remember, you need to successfully complete three investigations to fully conquer this challenge.
Tips & Tricks To Complete Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia
Navigating the Primitive Challenge involves understanding the unique rules and circumstances. Firstly, your loadout is drastically limited, with electronics entirely off the table. This means no Flashlights, DOTs Projectors, Video Cameras, or any other electronic equipment (as seen below).
Sanity Medication is also removed, but you start with a full Sanity meter to help protect you initially from ghost antics. Your provided equipment includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to potentially prevent up to two ghost hunt attempts, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for added protection.
For gathering evidence, you're limited to two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 "glowstick" UV lights, which double as your flashlights and tools for ultraviolet evidence. Additionally, you get two Tier 1 thermometers to check for freezing temperatures.
To tackle this challenge, you must harness your paranormal intuition. Each ghost in Phasmophobia has distinct behavioral traits that can help identify them even without traditional evidence. Our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a useful tool in this scenario.
Your primary goal should be locating the ghost quickly. Without access to the fuse box, your sanity is at higher risk in the dark. Fortunately, ghost activity is heightened in this challenge, making it easier to pinpoint their location.
Alternatively, you can use the provided Cursed Object, the Ouija Board, found in the laundry room on the first floor, left of the dining area. Ask the ghost its "favorite room" to get a direct answer, though this will cost you 50% of your sanity. Remember to say "Goodbye" to the board to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt. This method is especially useful in group settings for added safety.
How To Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia
To participate in the weekly challenge, choose either Singleplayer or Multiplayer. Navigate to your Difficulty Settings, just above your profile ID, and scroll to find the 'Challenge Mode' option. Select 'Apply' and return to the main menu. On the map board, select 10 Ridgeview Court manually, as the challenge doesn't auto-select the location. The loadout is pre-set and cannot be changed. When ready, select 'Ready Up' and 'Start' to begin.
