The object of the game is to survive…
When you're launched into your world and given your plot of land, it's easy to think that protecting your plot is the goal. However, that's not quite right. **The true objective is to survive, or in other words, to avoid death.** The game will challenge you with various dangers, and your mission is to outlast them. While the ideal strategy is to build a defensive structure on your plot, you can also roam the world until the threat passes (a tactic that we've used successfully). **Each survival earns you a “Win” and some in-game currency.** Accumulating Wins is key to progressing in the game. So, keep an eye on the screen messages and focus on staying alive.
… dying is completely normal
**Don't be discouraged if you die.** It's a common occurrence in *Build Defense*, and the repercussions are minimal. You'll be respawned immediately, you'll lose your items, and you'll miss the current wave of enemies, but none of these setbacks are game-ending. **You can repurchase your weapons and items**, and the structures you've built remain intact as the monsters and disasters can't destroy them. Another wave of attacks will come every two minutes, giving you another chance to succeed. Essentially, **you only lose a few minutes of your time**, which isn't a big deal at all.
Build high, not low
Initially, we thought encircling our plot with a wall would suffice for defense against monsters, but this approach proved ineffective. The need for an entry and exit point left us vulnerable. A more successful strategy is to **construct a tall set of stairs leading to a high platform.** When night falls, you can ascend to this safe haven and wait it out. Monsters attempting to climb these steep stairs are likely to fall, and those who reach the top can be met with a barrage of **turrets**. This setup is nearly foolproof and will help you survive most nights.
Don’t just build, explore!
There's more to do on the island than just managing your plot. **You can interact with neighbors (other players), trade ores, and embark on quests.** While most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, some, like the **Gingerbread’s House quest**, are available from the start. Completing these quests can unlock exciting new building components, enhancing your base.
The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items
As you advance in the game, don't forget to explore the Shop. **Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency.** You'll need to accumulate a good number of Wins before you can afford much, so make sure to play the game for a while before diving into the Shop. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and like, favorite, and follow the game to receive a free gift.
When you’re ready, move to the next area
Once you've amassed enough Wins (190), you can transition to the next area and start the cycle anew. You'll encounter new disasters, quests, and building opportunities.
