MAME4droid faithfully recreates arcade games compatible with the original MAME 0.139u1 emulator.
MAME4droid (0.139u1) is developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco) as an Android adaptation of the PC-based MAME 0.139 emulator created by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team. It supports arcade titles playable on this specific MAME release, covering more than 8,000 distinct ROMs.
* PLEASE NOTE: MAME4droid is an EMULATOR ONLY and DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY ROMS OR COPYRIGHTED CONTENT.
This MAME4droid edition is optimized for dual-core Android hardware, as it builds on the PC MAME version that requires more processing power than earlier releases.
Even on high-performance devices, some arcade games from the 1990s onward may not run at full speed or with perfect accuracy. Certain titles like OutRun and the Mortal Kombat series are poorly optimized and typically require at least a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor.
With compatibility for over 8,000 games, performance will vary. Some titles may run flawlessly, while others might not work at all. Given the vast number of supported games, the developer cannot offer individual technical support for specific ROMs.
After installation, place your MAME-compatible zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/MAME4droid/roms directory.
This MAME4droid build works exclusively with the '0.139' ROM collection.
