Also known as the 28 Card Game with slight rule variations, this South Asian trick-taking game features Jacks and Nines as the highest-ranking cards in each suit.
Typically played by four players forming two partnerships (with partners sitting opposite each other), the game uses a modified 32-card deck from a standard 52-card pack.
Each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades) contains eight cards ranked: J-9-A-10-K-Q-8-7. Players compete to win tricks containing valuable cards worth:
- Jacks: 3 points
- Nines: 2 points
- Aces: 1 point
- Tens: 1 point
- Other cards (K, Q, 8, 7): 0 points
The game offers a total of 28 points. Some versions award an extra point for the final trick (totaling 29 points), though most modern players use the original 28-point system while keeping the traditional name.
