Diving into the cooperative horror game *R.E.P.O.* can be a thrilling experience, especially when you and up to five friends navigate through different maps to retrieve valuables and extract them safely. However, the last thing you want is to lose your progress due to not saving your game correctly. Here’s a detailed guide on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.* to ensure your hard work is never wasted.
How to Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.
One of the most disheartening experiences for any gamer is expecting to resume from a recent save, only to find that all their efforts have vanished. This issue is particularly prevalent with newer games like *R.E.P.O.*, where the saving mechanics might not be immediately clear. Unlike some games with autosave features or manual save options, *R.E.P.O.* requires you to complete a level for your progress to be saved automatically.
In *R.E.P.O.*, there is no manual save feature. If you quit the game during a retrieval mission or if you die and get sent to the Disposal Arena, your save file will be deleted, forcing you to restart from the beginning of that level. The key to saving your progress is to successfully complete the level you are on.
To save your game, you must finish the level by delivering your valuables to the Extraction Point. Once there, enter the truck or find your way back to it, and press the message button above your head. This action signals your AI boss, the Taxman, that it's time to move to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop for necessary items and then use the same button to proceed to the next level.
After leaving the Service Station, you will arrive at your next location. It is at this point that it is safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. The next time you or the host (if another player created the original save file) opens the game, you can resume playing *R.E.P.O.* from where you left off. It’s crucial for the host to exit the game at the right time to ensure the save is properly recorded. Once the host quits, all other players will be disconnected.
