Another major Xbox exclusive is making its way to the PlayStation 5—Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Revealed with a brand-new trailer during today's PlayStation State of Play, the latest iteration of Microsoft Flight Simulator will launch on Sony’s console on December 8, 2025.
The trailer also confirmed that PlayStation VR2 support is currently in development. While it won't be ready for the initial release, this feature will be added through a free update in 2026.
"To deliver an outstanding PlayStation experience, we leveraged the immersive capabilities of the DualSense wireless controller," wrote Jorg Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, in a PlayStation blog post. "Adaptive triggers adjust resistance based on ground speed and terrain, and provide dynamic feedback during flight.
Air traffic control (ATC) communications are delivered through the controller's speaker, replicating the authentic cockpit atmosphere. Gyro controls, lightbar functionality, and a customizable touchpad further heighten the sensation of flying."
Once again developed by Asobo Studio in collaboration with Microsoft Game Studios, the PlayStation 5 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will include all the latest content and receive the same free World Updates and Sim Updates as the PC and Xbox editions.
