Fortnite's new "Reload" mode throws players back to classic gameplay with a modern twist. This fast-paced mode packs 40 players onto a smaller map featuring iconic locations from past updates, creating a nostalgic yet intense battle.
What Awaits in Fortnite's Reload Mode?
Reload mode offers a unique comeback mechanic: as long as one teammate remains, your squad has a chance to revive fallen members. However, a complete squad wipe means immediate elimination—no second chances. This high-stakes gameplay applies to both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.
The action unfolds on a compact island, featuring beloved locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row. While vehicles are absent, players are rewarded with a diverse arsenal of unvaulted weapons, including fan favorites such as the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.
Victory Crowns remain in play, and upon revival, players respawn with a common Assault Rifle (and building materials in Build mode). The Reboot Timer adds another layer of urgency, starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds as the match progresses. Eliminating enemies reduces this timer, allowing for quicker revivals. Players can also choose to initiate their reboot immediately.
Elimination and Strategy
Eliminated players drop Small Shield Potions, assorted ammo, and 50 of each building material (in Build mode), keeping the battle intense and resource-driven.
The mode also introduces intro quests offering substantial XP rewards. Completing three quests unlocks the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six quests yield the Pool Cubes Wrap, and completing nine grants the NaNa Bath Back Bling. A Victory Royale earns players The Rezzbrella Glider.
