Remedy Entertainment has exciting news for fans, announcing that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This session-based, multiplayer PvE game is set within the captivating universe of Control, offering players a variety of replayable missions called Jobs. Each Job comes with unique challenges, objectives, and environments, demanding teamwork and adaptability to succeed.
FBC: Firebreak is slated for release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Notably, it will be available on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing, adding another milestone to their impressive portfolio.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes a selection of exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game have the option to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.
The Deluxe Edition boasts an array of exclusive content:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
According to Remedy, FBC: Firebreak introduces a system called Requisitions, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions encompass a wide range of items such as weapons, equipment, armor, and sprays, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added to the game, it remains available permanently.
For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items including armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These are purchased with real money, but they are purely cosmetic and do not impact gameplay. They will also remain available indefinitely.
Remedy has committed to providing ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with two new Jobs scheduled for release in 2025 and more updates planned for 2026. All new playable content, such as Jobs, will be free for all players. While players can purchase cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, Remedy assures.
Amidst a bustling lineup, Remedy is simultaneously working on other projects including Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what's next from this innovative developer.
