Paint, draw, and share your creations with others through ArtClash, a unique platform currently in early access with more exciting features on the way. Unlike Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter, ArtClash is designed to foster daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning practice.
ArtClash is a one-man project, created to help my wife and I practice every day and encourage others to do the same.
Current Features:
- Paint: Enjoy sketching, painting, and blending with ease.
- Import Images: Use images as references or paint over them to enhance your artwork.
- Interactive Challenges: Choose topics or series of topics, set optional constraints like time limits, color limits, or canvas sizes, and earn points when others guess your drawings correctly.
- Difficulty Levels: Select from six levels of difficulty, ranging from single words to combinations of up to five different words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods).
- Constraints for Extra Points: Opt for challenges such as time, color, or canvas size limitations to boost your score.
- Free Draw and Share: Create anything you want and share it with the community.
- NSFW Flag: Optionally view images that have been marked as NSFW by other users.
Current Early Access Issues/Bugs:
- Ugly UI: The Unity UI has been challenging, and we plan to replace it with XAML for better responsiveness and aesthetics.
- Performance on Large Canvases: Keep canvases under 1024x1024 on lower-end devices due to the GPU-accelerated brush engine slowing down with larger sizes. We're testing other engines to improve performance.
Upcoming Features:
- New Games: Starting with a drawing version of "telephone."
- Enhanced Social Features: Change avatars, add comments to projects and finished games, friend and follow others.
- Improved UI and Brush Engine: Addressing the current bugs for a smoother experience.
- Advanced Tools: Marquee selection and transform tools will be added.
- More Brushes: The app currently supports any brush texture, and we'll add more options, including user-created and shared brushes.
- Better Layer System: Enhancements to include locking transparent pixels, masking, and more.
- Developer Communication System: A feedback system for feature requests, bug reports, and voting on future changes.
- Moderators: Promote users to moderate flagged images and address community issues.
- User-Generated Content: Allow submissions of topics and constraints for community moderation and inclusion.
- Future Expansions: Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping.
While ArtClash currently faces performance issues with large textures and lacks full editing features, it's optimized for social competition and encouragement, making it a great platform for daily practice and community engagement.
