Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th

Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for a substantial 75 days—one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.

While specifics on Season 2's content remain under wraps, Treyarch's previous teases suggest more classic map remakes are in store. This news comes as a welcome relief to fans, as Black Ops 6, despite a record-breaking launch, has seen a recent player decline. This dip is attributed to ongoing issues with cheating in Ranked Play and persistent server problems. The hope is that Season 2's fresh content and improvements will revitalize the game's player base.

Season 2 Launch Date Confirmed

Treyarch confirmed the January 28th release date in a recent update addressing Zombies mode issues. While fixes for some problems were delayed, Treyarch indicated they'd be included in the Season 2 launch. A detailed blog post outlining the new season's features is expected soon.

Season 1 delivered a massive content drop, including new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events, as well as a significant overhaul of Warzone. This included a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The season also saw the welcome return of popular maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4.

Looking Ahead to Season 2

Although details are scarce, Treyarch has hinted at further classic map remasters for Black Ops 6. In a December interview, Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie stated that no Black Ops map is ruled out for remastering, though the studio prioritizes original content.
